Nottingham Business School at Nottingham Trent University
Here you'll enrol on a BA (Hons) Business Management (Retail Banking) degree. You'll spend your first year studying full-time, then in your second and third years you'll be work-based. We'll cover your fees for the full three years and pay you a salary in your second and third years.
In your first year, you'll get a thorough grounding in personal and professional skills as well as business disciplines. The modules include:
- Business Reality and Project Management
- Financial Markets
- Maths and Accounting
- Corporate Strategy and Business Environment
- Business Law
- Work and Organisations
- Developing Personal and Professional Skills.
In your second year you'll begin your work placement with Barclays. This will be punctuated by two study blocks per year and you'll have a mentor from the Business School and Barclays to further support your academic understanding and personal development.
Learning and assessment, which reflects the work-based nature of the course, will include:
- project work
- simulations
- debates
- examinations
- group projects
- company projects
- consultancy reports
- skills portfolios.
How to apply
Apply through UCAS using the UCAS code N200. If you're selected, you'll be invited to an assessment centre for a one-to-one interview, presentation and group task. You'll also get more information on the course plus and a chance to tour the campus with current students/graduates. Perform well and you'll be invited to a second assessment centre run by Barclays. We'll then let you know if you've successfully secured sponsorship.
UCAS entry requirements
You'll need 320 points, which should include:
- three A-levels / Vocational A-levels (6 units) at Grades A,B,B
- one Vocational A-level (12 units) plus one A-level / Vocational A-level (6 units) at Grades A, B, B
- two 6-unit qualifications at Grades A, B or above, plus a maximum of 60 points from other A-levels or AS-levels
You must also have five GCSEs at Grade B or above, including Maths and English Language.
